The Doo*: Finished!
Since Daddy-o passed away, we figured The FM (The Fantastic Mom, for those of you who are relatively new to the blog) would be spending a lot more time with us in the summer, so Mr. S-n-S and I have been working feverishly to finish a new bathroom for her convenience.
(I’m not going to lie–it will be great to have another shower in the house, especially one that doesn’t look perpetually moldy even when it’s clean.)
So, without further ado, here are some shots of the new bathroom. We’re still trying to figure out a name for it, but it’s currently called The Doo:

What? Don’t you all have funny nicknames for the rooms in your house? You don’t? Well then, perhaps I have some explaining to do. Some of the weirdest names of places are “Shopping in the Basement” (for our extra food storage) and “The Loo” (for the upstairs guest bath). That room honestly has a sign on top of the doorway that says “The Loo.” (Thanks for that, Ms. K.)
Most of our other room names are pretty normal, but we do have a “Shoe House” as well. (That’s where all of the shoes live when they come in from playing outside, of course.)
*Anywho, The Doo refers to the fact that it is a loo for the downstairs. (Just substitute the “d” in downstairs for the . . . never mind.) The fact that the name is a double entendre tickles my funny bone as well. ![]()

Love the mirror! And I get a kick out of seeing your hand holding the camera right in the middle of that picture, too.

It’s pretty! The only weird room-name we have in our house is “The Other Room.” The room has no purpose in life, but to collect crap. It used to be the second of the two-car garage, but the previous owners decided they needed an extra room, however, we can’t figure out what to do with it. We’ve been in this house for 8 years. We also have a bar room, but we tore the bar down four years ago. It’s still the bar room.

Well, that looks great! Love the mirror!
We’ve got a huge windowless room in the basement we call the “second guest room” in manner of Victorians. All that’s guesty is that it’s got a futon, a folding indoor-outdoor end table I bought when I was 19, and a night light.

It looks great! Love that paint color you picked - we have something similar in our great room.

I love the mirror! It is just fab…the whole bathroom really came out great! And we have room names that go with the theme of the room so naming is norm for me.

Love it! Such a lot of work and great things since I saw it last! I’m so impressed that you would even take on such a project — quite inspiring, I must say. Oh, and like everyone else, I also LOVE the mirror. Bien hecho, amiga!
